Is it so important for us to play with animals’ lives?
I am against animal testing and this is why you should be too.
To begin with, animal testing is a time consuming and expensive process. Hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions of dollars are spent on testing a new chemical. Additionally, a few animal tests also take months or even years to conduct. Why waste time and money when scientists and researchers can use the Organs-On-A-Chip method (Where a chip that replicates a human organ and that can be tested on) which has proven to be much more cheap and efficient.
Secondly, animal experimentation harms millions of animals. It is very unfortunate that so many animals are subjected to being force fed, living in a cage, experiencing injections and so much more.
A professor at Salisbury University said “ It is because these are animals who are vulnerable to us and depend upon us, that what we are doing to them is so wrong.”
Did you know that over 110 million animals die in the U.S yearly because of animal experimentation. Terrifying, isn’t it?
Lastly, animal testing is not reliable. 92% of drugs go through the tests on animals but fail with humans. If only 8% of medicines tested succeed with humans, why must we show such cruelty towards innocent animals?
Remember, as individuals, we can encourage cruelty free products and use them at home. After all, it is crucial that animals get the love and support they deserve!
Help us end animal testing!
