Did you know that nearly 75% of dogs globally are strays and 70-80% of cats are too! This is terrible. Just imagine; so many animals must be suffering without enough food, water and shelter. What’s worse is that many of these strays are mistreated by people on top of everything else! This has to change! In this article read about why stray animals deserve as much love and affection as the puppy or kitten in your home…

1. Sentience: Animals ( whether they are strays or not ) are sentient creatures. This means that animals feel all the feelings we do. They can feel joy, fear, pain, loneliness, affection and many other emotions. Many strays are alone and struggling; think about what they are going through every single day!
2. They Need Basic Care and Safety: Stray animals are also ignored very often. Harsh conditions like extreme weather, lack of clean water, and limited access to food can lead to health issues, injuries and depression. These animals deserve all the care in the world which is what we must ensure they get!
3. Our Love Encourages Responsible Behaviour: When we start showing strays care, we are setting an example for many others and making these deserving animals more comfortable. By showing love, humans can prevent harm before it happens — for example, ensuring animals don’t go hungry, avoiding fights between strays, or reducing the spread of various diseases.

How Can I Help:

1. Adoption: Stray animals thrive in better environments like your home! When you adopt, you aren’t just bringing home an adorable pet, you are saving it from lifelong suffering.
2. Treat them Kindly: Just making sure you approach slowly, avoid sudden movements, and don’t hit or chase them can make a huge difference!
3. Educate others: Many don’t know enough about stray animals. Raising awareness about these animals can contribute to a massive change.
4. Support and Volunteer: Supporting animal welfare through donations and volunteering is a great idea. Even participating in campaigns can promote kindness across the globe.

In conclusion, I’d like to reiterate that all animals, including strays deserve as much empathy and affection as possible! If we work together and participate even a little, we can save much deserving strays everywhere!
